The topic in oral discourse: annotation and characterization of different topics in spoken corpora

Neste estudo, procedemos à anotação e caracterização de diferentes tipos de tópico discursivo em textos extraídos de dois corpora de fala, com incidência nos constituintes da periferia esquerda dos segmentos estudados, para i) propor uma taxonomia para a descrição semântico-discursiva destes constituintes através do recurso à ferramenta Praat; ii) caracterizar os tipos de tópicos ocorrentes; iii) discutir os resultados obtidos. Estes resultados, de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, revelam que os falantes organizam o fluxo informacional seguindo diferentes estratégias discursivas, a articular com a estrutura sintática e sobretudo prosódica, mas também com o género do discurso oral analisado.In this study, we annotate and characterize different types of discourse topic in texts extracted from two speech corpora, with emphasis on constituents of left periphery, to i) propose a taxonomy for semantic-discursive description of these constituents using Praat; ii) characterize the types of occurring topics; iii) discuss the results. These results, both qualitative and quantitative, reveal thatspeakers organize information flow following different discourse strategies, which are articulated with syntactic and prosodic structures, but also with the genre of the oral discourse at stake

Tratamento técnico, armazenamento e conservação de discos de vinil

TCC (graduação em Biblioteconomia) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, FlorianópolisA presente pesquisa busca contribuir para o aprimoramento do conhecimento acerca dos procedimentos de tratamento que os acervos de disco de vinil recebem em unidades de informação, com o objetivo de otimizar o tratamento, o armazenamento e a conservação de discos de vinil. Expõe os procedimentos recomendados pela literatura para conservação, armazenamento, higienização e organização desse suporte de gravação sonora. Menciona a catalogação como um dos principais componentes de organização, controle e acesso aos itens de um acervo. Aborda o conceito e a história do disco de vinil, enfatizando a necessidade de se preservar essa mídia como documento histórico. Conclui-se que o profissional responsável pelo tratamento técnico, armazenamento e conservação de discos deve conhecer os procedimentos adequados para esse tipo de suport

O presente relatório foi elaborado de acordo com o estipulado nas Normas apresentadas pelo Conselho Técnico-Científico do Instituto Superior de Engenharia da Universidade do Algarve para a elaboração do Relatório de Atividade Profissional. Pretendeu-se descrever as principais funções da autora na empresa Aviludo, SA, onde tem desenvolvido o seu percurso profissional. Desde 2006 a autora é Responsável da Qualidade e dos Aprovisionamentos e exerce funções em diferentes áreas, nomeadamente no Plano HACCP, Gestão da Qualidade (ISO 9001 e ISO22000), Rastreabilidade, Segurança Alimentar, Rotulagem e Desenvolvimento de Novos Produtos. Neste relatório de atividade profissional são evidenciadas as competências adquiridas através da formação académica, formação complementar e experiência profissional. O percurso profissional evidencia um desenvolvimento dos conhecimentos adquiridos com a licenciatura em Engenharia Alimentar e um alargamento de competências e experiência na área da Rastreabilidade e Segurança Alimentar

Indefinities and bare nouns in generic contexts in European Portuguese

FR: Le principal but de ce travail est de décrire le comportement des indéfinis sans modification adjectivale en position de sujet préverbal dans des contextes génériques et de montrer leur rapport avec les noms nus en portugais européen (PE). Il est possible de signaler une différence dans la distribution des noms nus en position de sujet préverbal entre les langues germaniques et les langues romanes : l'emploi des noms comptables au pluriel et des noms massifs est grammatical en anglais, très restreint en italien, espagnol et PE, et agrammatical en français. En nous fondant sur les critères établis par Dowty (1979) pour la distinction entre événements et états et sur la distinction proposée par Cunha (2004) entre les éventualités admettant des phases et les éventualités ne les admettant pas, nous établis- sons une corrélation entre la distribution des noms nus et des indéfinis en position sujet préverbal dans le PE et différents types de prédicats. En synthétisant les étalons obtenus dans la description des données, nous combinons (suivant Duarte et al., 2002, et Oliveira et al., 2006) la valeur de chacun des prédicats considérés et la valeur respective du sujet, dans le but d'établir les propriétés des noms nus et des indéfinis en position de sujet préverbal dans le PE, notamment en ce qui concerne les contextes génériques qui les autorisent. Nous montrerons que soit les indéfinis soit les noms nus fonctionnent de façon différente dans cette position-là selon leur forme singulière ou plurielle.The main goal of this work is to describe how singular and plural indefinites without modification in preverbal subject position behave in generic contexts and how they relate to bare nouns in European Portuguese (EP) in the same position and con- texts. In what concerns the distribution of bare nouns (BN) in subject preverbal position without modifiers, a contrast between Germanic and Romance languages has been noticed: plural count nouns and mass nouns are grammatical in English, but not in French and they are quite restricted in Italian, Spanish and EP. Based on the criteria established by Dowty (1979) for distinguishing states from events and on the distinction proposed by Cunha (2004) between phase and non phase eventualities, we establish a correlation between the distribution of BN and indefinites in preverbal subject position in EP and different types of predicates. Having summarized the patterns obtained by the data description, we combine (following Duarte et al., 2002, and Oliveira et al., 2006) the predicate value of each of the considered predicates and their corresponding subject value, in order to account for the properties of the BNs and indefinites preverbal subjects in EP, namely with respect to the generic contexts that allow them. It will be showed that both indefinites and BNs behave differently in such position depending on their singular or plural form

A cessação de contrato de trabalho : uma análise jurídico-económica

Dissertação de Mestrado, Ciências Económicas e Empresariais, 18 Dezembro de 2015, Universidade dos Açores.O presente trabalho de investigação: "A cessação do contrato de trabalho: análise jurídico-económica" tem como objetivo principal, em primeiro lugar, enquadrar o contrato de trabalho numa perspetiva jurídica-económica e social, caracterizar este mesmo contrato de trabalho, seus princípios e intervenientes e, finalmente, perceber as diversas formas de cessar o contrato de trabalho em Portugal. Neste âmbito, constatamos que a cessação do contrato de trabalho pode ser agrupadas em 3 (três) categorias: caducidade, revogação e despedimento por iniciativa unilateral, que, por sua vez, inclui duas subcategorias: o despedimento por iniciativa do empregador e o despedimento por iniciativa do trabalhador. Cada uma destas subcategorias divide-se em modalidades: despedimento por justa causa, despedimento por extinção de posto de trabalho, despedimento por inadaptação ou despedimento coletivo, no caso de despedimento por iniciativa do empregador, e resolução e denúncia, no caso de despedimento por iniciativa do trabalhador. Ou seja, e dito de outro modo, temos então 8 (oito) modalidades de cessação de contrato de trabalho: a caducidade, a revogação, as 4 (quatro) relativas a despedimento por iniciativa do empregador e as 2 (duas) relativas a despedimento por iniciativa do trabalhador. Este estudo visou, em segundo lugar, analisar como se processa cada uma destas modalidades de cessação do contrato de trabalho na Região Autónoma dos Açores, em concreto, na ilha de S. Miguel. Para o efeito, no Capítulo II, realizamos um estudo empírico na Comissão de Conciliação e Arbitragem de Ponta Delgada e Secção de Trabalho da Instância Central de Ponta Delgada, de onde, retiramos pertinentes dados estatísticos suscetíveis de estabelecer uma correlação interessante entre a atual crise económico-financeira que assola um pouco por toda a Europa e a cessação do contrato de trabalho.ABSTRACT: This research work: “The cessation of the employment contract: legal and economic analysis”, aims, first, to frame the employment contract in a legal, economic and social perspective, characterize this contract, its principles and stakeholders and, then, study the ways to terminate the employment contract in Portugal. In this context, we find out that the termination of the employment contract can be grouped into 3 (three) categories: contract expiry, revocation and dismissal unilaterally, wich includes 2 (two) subcategories: the dismissal by the initiative of the employer and the dismissal by the initiative of the employee. Each of these subcategories is divided into types: dismissal for cause, dismissal for extinguishing job, dismissal for unsuitability or collective dismissal, if dismissal by the initiative of the employer, and resolution and denunciation, if dismissal by the employee. That is, and in other words, we have 8 (eight) types of termination of the employment contract: contract expiry, revocation, 4 (four) types for the dismissal by the initiative of the employer and 2 (two) types for the dismissal by the initiative of employee. This paper intends, secondly, to analyse how to proceed in each type of termination of the employment contract in Azores, more specifically in S. Miguel Island. So, in Chapter II, an empirical analysis at the Commission of Conciliation and Arbitration of Ponta Delgada and Section of the Work at the Central Instance of Ponta Delgada was made, where, we withdraw relevant statistical data susceptible to establish an interesting correlation between the current economic and financial crisis that is affecting one bit throughout all Europe and the termination of the employment contract

Verbos de movimento, preposições direcionais e escalas

Prepositions para and até are apparently similar in some contexts, but they give rise to distinct interpretations that are related to the aspectual profile of the predications. This work aims to explore the differences between para and até regarding the telicity of the predications projected by verbs of movement of the type caminhar. Two theoretical perspectives are compared and the data presented suggest that the contribution of these prepositions to the telicity of the predications can be described in a more accurate way by using the notion of 'scale', in a similar way to apparently unrelated constructions such as Degree Achievements

La educación para la paz en las instituciones escolares. Consideraciones al contexto venezolano

This research frames the importance of education for peace in schools and in the Venezuelan national context. The methodology was documentary based on a review of the literature with a phenomenological approach. It is evident that Venezuelan educational management is facing a great challenge, given the existence of the conflict in the development of society context, the need arises for teachers to appropriate the humanist chair of teaching peace from the critical review of school violence. To achieve this, sensitive encounters should be fostered towards citizen peace, educating to promote the climate of coexistence as the nerve center of which significant elements are dictated in the Venezuelan educational system, as spaces committed for achieving peaceful coexistenceEsta investigación se enmarca en conocer la importancia de la educación para la paz en las instituciones escolares y en el contexto nacional venezolano. La metodología fue documental basada en revisión de la literatura en la materia con enfoque fenomenológico.
